The Integrated Devices & Systems (IDS) and Engineering Dynamics (ED) groups at the University of Twente are seeking a highly motivated PhD candidate. The researcher will focus on experimenting with ultrasound waves inside a tube to determine the properties of liquids, specifically focusing on viscosity. Eligibility & Qualifications
- An MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Materials Science.
- A strong passion for hands-on experimentation.
- Excellent team spirit with the ability to operate effectively in an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented environment.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
Job Description
- Experimentation & Design: Designing and setting up laboratory experiments to analyze ultrasound signals across various sensor configurations.
- Data Analysis: Relating acoustic and ultrasonic signals directly to liquid compositions and properties like viscosity.
- Industrial Collaboration: Working alongside technical universities and industrial partners (including Bronkhorst High-Tech BV) to scale the research into a commercial product.
- Academic Contribution: Participating in departmental teaching activities within your field of expertise (occupying 10%–20% of your time).
