Eligibility & Qualifications

To be eligible for the incoming postdoctoral fellowship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be an experienced researcher holding a doctorate.
  • Must have a maximum of five years’ postdoctoral experience.
  • Must be internationally mobile: You must not have lived or carried out your main activity (work, study, etc.) in Belgium for more than 24 months in the three years immediately prior to the project start date.
  • All nationalities are eligible to apply.
  • Additional Requirement: Applicants must also apply to the “Chargé de recherche” instrument of the F.R.S.-FNRS call for Fellowships and Mandates (opening in the second half of December 2026 and closing at the end of January 2027).

Job Description & Funding Details

Successful candidates will receive a tax-exempt postdoctoral grant covering a period of 12 to 36 months. The grant amount takes the researcher’s experience into account and includes:

  • Third-party insurance costs
  • Social security contributions
  • An allocated operating budget for research activities
