Eligibility / Qualification
Candidates should have:
- A doctoral degree (PhD/Doctor of Science) in Biology, Marine Sciences, Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Bioscience Engineering, or a related discipline.
- The doctoral degree must be completed before the start of the appointment.
- Research experience in:
- Marine ecology
- Experimental ecology
- Stress responses of organisms
- Biochemical approaches such as lipidomics
- Ecological dataset analysis using R
- Laboratory and/or field experiments
- A strong academic publication record in peer-reviewed international journals.
- Demonstrated potential as an independent researcher.
- Interest and ability to supervise bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral students.
Job Description
The selected postdoctoral researcher will:
- Conduct academic research (minimum 70% of workload) on climate-driven stress responses at the base of marine food webs using experimental approaches and trophic markers.
- Develop and conduct laboratory and field-based ecological experiments.
- Apply biochemical methods to understand organism responses to environmental stress.
- Perform statistical analysis of ecological datasets.
- Contribute to teaching activities at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, particularly in Experimental Marine Ecology.
- Supervise and guide master’s students during projects, internships, and dissertations.
- Provide support and guidance to doctoral students.
