Eligibility

To qualify for this PhD stipend, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a relevant Master’s degree.
  • Possess a strong background in quantum networks, general quantum information, OR cryptography related to multiparty computation (familiarity with both is highly beneficial).
  • Demonstrate a solid mathematical skill set with the ability to formally analyze and prove properties of abstract systems.
  • Display strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Be willing to complete an external research stay abroad (3-6 months) and participate in teaching or project supervision.

Scholarship Description

This theoretical research position focuses on designing secure multiparty computation protocols where participants can utilize quantum resources, such as entanglement and the no-cloning principle, to enhance privacy in distributed computation. While primarily theoretical, candidates may also utilize quantum network simulators like NetSquid or Q2NS. As part of the curriculum, the student will complete 30 ECTS of PhD courses, gain teaching experience, and present findings at international workshops and conferences.
