Eligibility & Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• Doctorate Degree (PhD): Must be completed prior to the start date from an accredited college or university in Statistics, Human Genetics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Scientific Achievement: Strong track record demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
• Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of statistical genetics, biostatistics, or computational genomics.
• Data Experience: Hands-on experience analyzing large-scale human genetic, genomic, or high-dimensional biomedical datasets.
• Method Development: Background in statistical modeling, machine learning, AI, and developing innovative analytical workflows for large-scale data analysis.
• Technical & Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, R, C/C++, or similar languages; familiarity with Linux environments and high-performance computing (HPC).
• Soft Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary research teams.

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

As a Postdoctoral Fellow within the Amgen R&D Postdoctoral Program, you will:

• Conduct Independent Research: Lead scientific projects at the intersection of statistical genetics and artificial intelligence.
• Method & Workflow Development: Develop, implement, and refine computational, statistical, and machine learning methods for population-scale genomic and phenotypic data.
• Drive Biological Discovery: Translate complex genetic data into actionable insights relevant to therapeutic development and precision medicine.
