Eligibility / Qualification
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record of research productivity (peer-reviewed publications).
- Hands-on expertise in one or more of the following:
- Cultivation and isolation of anaerobes and/or phages
- Anaerobic techniques and microbial genetics
- Functional genomics and high-throughput assay development
- Generation and bioinformatic analysis of sequencing data (-omics)
- Analytical chemistry techniques (HPLC, LC-MS) and biochemistry
- Strong self-motivation, time management, organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
Job Description
The selected candidate will lead project initiatives, optimize methods, and contribute significantly to laboratory output.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent laboratory experiments and develop new experimental protocols.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely records of experimental details and datasets.
- Analyze and interpret complex biological data, communicating results regularly to the Principal Investigator (PI).
- Draft manuscripts for scientific journals and assist in preparing grant proposals.
- Present research findings at internal group meetings, national/international conferences, and workshops.
- Mentor, train, and assist junior researchers and graduate/undergraduate lab members.
- Participate in weekly routine laboratory maintenance and shared duties.
