Job Description

The Postdoctoral Researcher will primarily focus on advanced research, with additional responsibilities in mentorship and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 80% – Research: Perform research for the development of Coupled Cluster-Periodic Boundary Conditions (CC-PBC) methods to study the electronic and optical properties of periodic systems. Apply these methods to various materials, including polymers, surfaces, films, and crystalline materials. Analyze data and contribute significantly to the writing of manuscripts for publication in scientific journals.
  • 10% – Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to graduate and undergraduate students engaged in research activities within the group.
  • 10% – Professional Development: Actively participate in professional development activities, which may include developing a detailed career plan with the Principal Investigator (PI), attending career development workshops, and delivering oral presentations at national and international scientific meetings.

Eligibility/Qualification

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field. The Ph.D. must be in hand to be appointed at the Postdoctoral Researcher title.
  • Demonstrated experience in electronic structure methods.
  • Proficiency in computer programming.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Completion of Ph.D. within the last three years.
  • Experience with post-Hartree Fock methods.
  • Experience with the Python programming language.
