Research Area
The PhD project focuses on:
- Light-driven synthesis of polymers from renewable feedstocks using mild and selective photochemical methods.

Eligibility/Qualification
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- BSc and MSc degree in Chemistry with a strong background in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and/or catalysis.
- Experience in the synthesis and characterization of organic molecules is essential.
- Strong analytical skills, initiative, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- Naturally curious, eager to learn, and strongly interested in science and research.

Scholarship Description
This PhD project offers a unique opportunity to contribute to sustainable polymer chemistry. Under the supervision of Prof. Fabian Eisenreich, you will join the Polymer Performance Materials research group and become part of the interdisciplinary Institute for Complex Molecular Systems. The research will involve designing and synthesizing polymers from renewable feedstocks using photochemical methods, studying reaction mechanisms, and developing photocatalytic recycling approaches. A key aspect is exploring how these materials can be integrated into durable composite applications. The position is funded through the EuroTech programme, fostering collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where a six-month research stay is planned.
