Summary
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) is offering a PostDoc position focusing on Quantum Readout of Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs). This project is part of the NWO-funded “Quartet” project and involves collaboration with QSA Technology and Twente University. The research aims to advance the practical realization of quantum authentication of optical PUFs through single-mode fiber, with a particular focus on remote authentication without trusting remote devices.
PostDoc Position on Quantum Readout Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs)
Designation
PostDoc Researcher
Research Area
- Quantum Readout of Physical Unclonable Functions (PUFs)
- Use of PUFs in quantum-cryptographic protocols
- System modeling, protocol design, and security analysis for quantum authentication
Location
Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Eindhoven, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands
Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in quantum optics, quantum cryptography, or a comparable domain.
- Demonstrable ability to conduct high-quality academic research.
- Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English.
- Good communication skills.
Job Description
The successful candidate will work on the project focusing on the use of PUFs as a physical authentication credential, specifically Quantum Readout of PUFs. This enables remote authentication of physical credentials without the need to trust remote devices. A primary goal is to achieve Quantum Readout through a long optical fiber, utilizing random challenges in the time-frequency domain. Responsibilities include system modeling, protocol design, and security analysis. The project also broadly explores the use of PUFs in quantum security schemes. This research is conducted at the Eindhoven Institute for the Protection of Systems and Information (EIPSI) and involves close collaboration with QSA Technology, QUANT at Twente University, and TU/e’s fiber optics experts.
