Postdoctoral Researcher Position – Automated Robotic Synthesis of Colloidal Quantum Dots

The position is based in the Faculty of Physics – Chair for Photonics and Optoelectronics, Nano-Institute Munich.

Eligibility/Qualification

Applicants should have:

  • A PhD degree or equivalent qualification in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in robotics and automation in chemistry.
  • Experience with colloidal quantum dots is desirable.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in an international research environment.
  • Self-motivation and good time-management skills.
  • Creativity, sound scientific judgment, and the ability to work independently.

Job Description

The selected researcher will:

  • Conduct independent research on automated and robotic synthesis.
  • Develop an automated robotic synthesis platform for colloidal quantum dots.
  • Integrate robotic synthesis with in-situ spectroscopy.
  • Investigate the synthesis and ligand chemistry of perovskite quantum dots.
  • Study and control the optical properties and surface chemistry of quantum dots.
  • Contribute to research within the ERC Starting Grant-funded project.
  • Contribute to teaching activities.
  • Where applicable, supervise and support undergraduate and Master’s students.
  • Present research at symposia and international conferences.
