Eligibility/Qualification
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- Completed highly relevant doctoral training in medical, pharmacy, chemistry, biomedical sciences, nanotechnology, cancer biology, or a related area.
- Awarded a Ph.D., M.D., or M.D./Ph.D.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Must be a US citizen, non-citizen national, or permanent resident at the time of appointment.
- Evidence of superior academic performance.
- Previous research or clinical experience.
- Publications.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
- Full understanding of framing research questions, research design and methods, and project implementation.
- Demonstrated proficiency in scientific/manuscript writing, grant writing, poster, and oral presentations.
- Strong publication record.
- Postdoctoral training with focus areas in Drug Delivery, Polymers, Chemo- and immunotherapy, RNA Vaccines, Computational Chemistry, PK/PD, or Translational Research.
Job Description
The Carolina Cancer Nanotechnology Training Program is a 24-36 month mentored postdoctoral training program at UNC Chapel Hill, with a primary focus on cancer nanotechnology research. The program involves 32 faculty members from 14 departments across 3 schools, including physical and material scientists, biomedical engineers, basic biomedical scientists, pharmaceutical scientists, and clinician-scientists. Trainees will benefit from:
- Active Co-mentorship: A physical scientist and a biomedical scientist will jointly guide the trainee’s research project over two years, providing a multi-faceted training experience.
- Workshops and Courses: Participation in activities designed to broaden knowledge and conceptual understanding of all aspects of cancer nanotechnology, reflecting major themes of the Alliance for Nanotechnology in Cancer.
