Eligibility/Qualification
- Ph.D. (expected or obtained) in Computer Science, Engineering, (Bio)Statistics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively describe scientific material to both specialized and lay audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary environment and commitment to participating in Schmidt Center activities.
- Experience in AI or related fields is critical. Prior exposure to biology or medicine is advantageous but not required.
Job Description
The Postdoctoral Associate will be responsible for:
- Developing novel computational and algorithmic methods.
- Focusing on the mathematical foundations of algorithms most suitable for biological applications.
- Independently choosing computational and biomedical mentors from Broad-, MIT-, or Harvard-affiliated faculty.
- Contributing to the mission of the Eric and Wendy Schmidt Center to advance the understanding of biological programs from proteins to organisms.
This is a one-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal for a second and third year based on satisfactory performance. The Broad Institute offers visa sponsorship for this opportunity.
