Job Description & Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will work under the guidance of the Project Leader, contributing to the development of identification and capture equipment for powder and inclusions in high-performance nickel-based alloys.
For the Postdoctoral Fellow:
- Undertake assigned research projects and support the expansion of departmental research initiatives.
- Conduct disciplined research aimed at delivering top-tier scholarly outputs and publications.
- Assist in mentoring and supervising postgraduate research students within the group.
- Advance academic understandings in the fields of advanced and ferroelectric materials.
- Disseminate research findings through high-impact international journals and conferences.
For the Part-time Research Assistant:
- Carry out specific research tasks and experiments under the direction of the research leader.
- Help investigate and develop new insights in the field of advanced materials.
- Assist in day-to-day laboratory operations and data acquisition.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Postdoctoral Fellow:
- A Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Must have no more than 5 years of post-qualification experience at the time of application.
- A proven publication track record in materials science and electron microscopy.
- Hands-on expertise with advanced microscopy techniques.
- Demonstrated capacity to conduct independent, high-level scientific research with minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and cross-disciplinary communication skills.
Part-time Research Assistant:
- An Honours Degree in Materials Science and Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant prior laboratory or research work experience.
- Practical experience in advanced microscopy techniques.
Conditions of Service & Remuneration
- Postdoctoral Fellow: A highly competitive remuneration package corresponding to qualifications and experience will be provided.
- Part-time Research Assistant: Offered an hourly rate of HK$125 per hour.
