Research Associate (Fixed Term): The research team of Professor Laura Machesky is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with a background in physics and/or cell biology to join an international team studying cell migration, mechanosensing and the molecular mechanisms of cancer metastasis. The project is funded by the Human Frontier Scientific Program Organization (HFSPO) and is a part of a joint program with groups in Japan and the USA.

Eligibility/Qualification: A background in physics and/or cell biology is required.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will join an international team of biologists in building a scanning ion conductance microscope (SICM) and using it to study how cells couple their migration with energetic demands. They will also be involved in studying the properties of macropinocytic structures. The funds for this post are available for 30 months in the first instance.
