Postdoc in Department of Biology: The Department of Biology at Aarhus University, Denmark invites applications for a postdoc position within the use of “dark taxa” in eDNA-based bioassessment. The successful candidate will work on a project to develop a next-generation biomonitoring approach that is more standardized, representative, and resource-efficient through the use of supervised machine learning. The postdoc will be part of a new research group led by Assistant Professor Eva Egelyng Sigsgaard and will have opportunities to collaborate with other researchers within Aarhus University and internationally.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD degree or equivalent, or have submitted their PhD thesis for assessment before the application deadline.
- Overall interest in the research topic of eDNA and bioassessment.
- Good collaborative skills.
- Experience in scientific publishing and project management within biology.
- Scientific coding (scripts and workflows) and application of machine learning techniques.
- Coding languages R and Unix shell (bash command line). Working knowledge of python is a plus.
- Exploring and analyzing next-generation sequencing data.
- Bioassessment theory and method.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily management of their research project in coordination with other members of the group and will be actively involved in the training and co-supervision of other staff members and students.
