Postdoc in Exploration of the sequence dependence of protein assembly and condensation at high throughput, Denmark

The University of Copenhagen has four campus areas. As distances in Copenhagen are relatively small, it is easy to get from one campus to the other either by bicycle or public transportation. The campus areas are integrated into the city of Copenhagen and students use the facilities available in the city, adding a lively buzz to the streets and cafés of Copenhagen.

Postdoc in Exploration of the sequence dependence of protein assembly and condensation at high throughput, Denmark

The Technical University of Denmark (DTU Bioengineering) is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join the research group of Prof. Alexander K. Buell. The successful candidate will contribute to the establishment of a new experimental methodology with the aim of probing the relationship between protein sequence and assembly into condensates and aggregates at high throughput. The position is funded by a prestigious ERC consolidator grant (EMMA).

Designation: Postdoctoral Fellow

Research Area: Protein Chemistry and Enzyme Technology

Location: Kgs. Lyngby, Denmark

Eligibility/Qualification: The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, biophysics, or a related field. The ideal candidate should have experience in protein chemistry, structural biology, and/or biophysical techniques. Experience with high throughput techniques is desirable but not required. The candidate should have a track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Job Description: The successful candidate will contribute to the establishment of a new experimental methodology with the aim of probing the relationship between protein sequence and assembly into condensates and aggregates at high throughput. The candidate will be responsible for developing and applying novel high throughput methods to explore intrinsically disordered protein (IDP) assembly sequence space. The candidate will also be responsible for the supervision of a PhD student who is also involved in the project. The candidate will be expected to assist in and be involved with other research projects and topics in the group. The candidate will be responsible for the functioning of research equipment, experimental design, data analysis, writing of scientific articles, and presentations at conferences and meetings.
