Postdoctoral Training Fellow: The Crick Institute is looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Training Fellow to work in Dr. Vivian Li’s laboratory. The researcher will investigate the molecular regulation of intestinal stem cells and colorectal cancer with a focus on the WNT signaling pathway, which plays a pivotal role in many biological processes, including CRC cell growth. The project will involve a multi-omics approach and computational modeling of gene regulatory networks to identify new drug targets and biomarkers for early detection.
Designation: Postdoctoral Training Fellow
Research Area: Molecular regulation of intestinal stem cells and colorectal cancer
Location: The Francis Crick Institute, London, UK
Eligibility/Qualification: The candidate should have a PhD in Developmental Biology, Stem Cells, Cancer, Computational Biology, or be in the final stages of PhD submission. They should have a strong track record of research as evidenced by publications in refereed journals. Knowledge and experience in molecular biology, intestinal stem cell biology and cancer biology, and/or computational biology are essential. Good computational/bioinformatic skills and experience in single-cell RNA/DNA-seq, including data analysis, are required. Experience in animal work is also essential.
Key Experience:
Essential | Desirable |
---|---|
PhD in relevant field | Integrative multi-omic analysis |
Knowledge of molecular biology | Creating or analyzing complex transgenic mouse models |
Experience in intestinal stem cell biology and/or cancer biology | 3D organoid culture |
Good computational/bioinformatic skill | Orthotopic intestinal tumor models in mice |
Single cell RNA/DNA-seq experience | Histology and confocal imaging |
Animal work experience | |
Excellent track record of research | |
Strong written and oral communication skills | |
Ability to work independently and in a team |
Desirable experience includes integrative multi-omic analysis, creating or analyzing complex transgenic mouse models, 3D organoid culture, orthotopic intestinal tumor models in mice, and histology and confocal imaging.
Job Description: The postholder will be responsible for performing research in molecular regulation, analyzing experimental data, and writing scientific manuscripts, reports, and presentations. They will lead their own research projects, supervise junior team members when necessary, and liaise with external collaborators.
How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit their application, including CV, cover letter, and contact details for three referees, through the Crick Institute’s online recruitment system.
Last Date for Apply: The last date for applications is 30 June 2023.
