Research Fellow – School of Chemistry: The University of Birmingham, School of Chemistry, is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow for a full-time, fixed-term contract until September 2025. The successful candidate will work on a prestigious ERC Starting Grant focused on understanding atomic-level mechanisms in perovskite optoelectronics. Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD (or close to completion) in an area related to the project: inorganic synthesis, materials chemistry, physical chemistry (solid-state NMR)
- High level of analytical capability
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly
- Fluency in relevant models, techniques, or methods
- Understanding of broader management/administration processes
- Knowledge of Equality Act 2010 and commitment to ensuring equal treatment for all individuals
Job Description: The selected Research Fellow will be responsible for the following duties:
- Developing research objectives and proposals
- Writing bids for research funding
- Analyzing and interpreting research findings
- Disseminating research outputs through publications and seminars
- Supervising students and providing guidance to PhD students
- Contributing to the development of new models and techniques
- Undertaking research-related management/administration tasks
- Contributing to research-related activities and enterprise/business development
- Collecting research data and presenting research outputs
- Handling problems that may affect research objectives and deadlines
