PhD/Postdoc Positions in Tissue Mechanics, University of Copenhagen, Denmark

The University of Copenhagen has four campus areas. As distances in Copenhagen are relatively small, it is easy to get from one campus to the other either by bicycle or public transportation. The campus areas are integrated into the city of Copenhagen and students use the facilities available in the city, adding a lively buzz to the streets and cafés of Copenhagen.

PhD/Postdoc Positions: The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine, reNEW, at the University of Copenhagen is seeking highly motivated individuals for PhD/Postdoc positions in the field of Tissue Mechanics. Join the Mechanics of Tissue Homeostasis team led by Dr. Jakub Sedzinski and contribute to cutting-edge interdisciplinary research at the intersection of developmental biology and tissue mechanics. Investigate the mechanisms underlying the formation of mucociliary epithelium in the Xenopus embryo using a range of experimental techniques, quantitative biology, biophysics, and computational biology.

Designation: PhD/Postdoc Positions

Research Area: Biology, embryology, or bioinformatics

Location: Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Stem Cell Medicine, University of Copenhagen, Denmark

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • For PhD Position: Applicants with a background in color developmental biology, embryology, or bioinformatics, with a focus on quantitative biology, tissue architecture, and mucociliary epithelial biology are encouraged to apply.
  • For Postdoc Position: Candidates with prior experience in Xenopus, advanced microscopy, and data analysis will be highly valued. A strong background in quantitative biology, morphogenesis, tissue architecture, and mucociliary epithelial biology is preferred.

Job Description: The selected candidates will:

  • Investigate the mechanisms underlying the formation of mucociliary epithelium in the Xenopus embryo.
