Internal Research Fellowship (POSTDOC): The European Space Agency (ESA) is offering an exciting opportunity for an Internal Research Fellowship in the field of biomimetics. This fellowship will be conducted within ESA’s Advanced Concepts Team (ACT) at the ESTEC facility in Noordwijk, Netherlands. The successful candidate will join a team of researchers focused on advancing space systems and innovative concepts through interdisciplinary research. As an ACT researcher, you will propose and perform novel research in biomimetics for space applications, collaborate with universities and research programs, publish results, and contribute to strategic planning.

Job Description:

  • Propose and conduct research in the field of biomimetics for space applications.
  • Collaborate with universities and research programs, both nationally and internationally.
  • Monitor and participate in the Team’s biomimetic research projects.
  • Publish research results in peer-reviewed publications and communicate findings to a broad audience.
  • Lead and assist interdisciplinary projects with other ACT researchers.
  • Participate in the assessment of proposed space system concepts and propose new concepts and assessment studies.
  • Provide in-house expertise for strategy development.
  • Benefit from the technology and engineering expertise available at ESTEC.
