You will work in the laboratory of Dr Anna Waterhouse, focusing on designing and characterizing microfluidics for evaluating DNA-based nanostructures that can dynamically change shape in response to external signals. This project is part of a collaborative research program with partners in the United States and Australia, aiming to fabricate multi-dimensional materials through self-assembly. The position offers a competitive salary starting from $100,717 plus 17% superannuation.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD and/or post-doctoral experience in a relevant academic field
- Experience in conducting original research and/or engaging in scholarly activity
- Skills in mechanical design, including CAD and mechanical structural/fluid simulations
- Knowledge and skills in nano and micro-fabrication processes and their application
- Experience in the preparation and analysis of materials using advanced techniques such as spectroscopy, AFM, SEM, TEM, EDS, etc.
- Proficiency in image processing, light microscopy, confocal microscopy, and electron microscopy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
Job Description: As a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Bioengineering, you will be responsible for designing and fabricating microfluidics for the evaluation of DNA-based nanostructures. Your work will involve characterizing nanostructure properties, performing biochemical and biophysical experiments, and analyzing data using advanced techniques. You will collaborate with experts in nanoparticle synthesis, microfluidics, and biofunctionalization of surfaces to develop new methods for fabricating reconfigurable systems. Additionally, you will contribute to scientific communications, assist with research grant applications, supervise graduate and honors level students, and present data at conferences and seminars.
