Research Area: Applied statistics, operations research, applied mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent

Location: Parkville

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completion (or near) of a PhD in Applied statistics, operations research, applied mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Produce good research work and publish it, showing improvement over time, in line with experience and available resources.
  • Demonstrated capacity to communicate research concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Current valid work rights for Australia (visa sponsorship not available for this position).

Job Description: As a Research Fellow in Biosecurity Modelling, you will:

  • Conduct research and contribute to knowledge through scholarship, cross-disciplinary or industry collaboration, refereed publication, and presentations. High-level collaboration is required.
  • Prepare technical reports, conference and seminar papers, and publications associated with research projects.
  • Actively apply to and successfully obtain external research grant income to support the research.
  • Contribute to training, scientific mentoring, and supervision of students.
