Postdoctoral Associate | Hearing and Balance: The Tarchini Lab at The Jackson Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Associate to join their team. The lab focuses on cell polarity mechanisms and their impact on the morphogenesis of sensory “hair” cells in the auditory and vestibular organs, with a specific interest in protein complexes involved in stereocilia bundle organization and regeneration. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to conduct independent research and contribute to the understanding of hearing and balance abilities.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Recently awarded Ph.D. in developmental cell biology, neuroscience, or a related field.
  • Experience with fine dissection techniques.
  • Good fine motor skills and depth perception are essential.
  • Expertise in inner ear biology and mouse genetics is preferred.
  • Close consideration will be given to applicants with experience in quantitative live imaging or inner ear surgery.

Job Description: The responsibilities of the Postdoctoral Associate include:

  • Planning, executing, and analyzing an independent research project.
  • Conducting experiments related to cell polarity mechanisms and sensory hair cell morphogenesis.
  • Investigating protein complexes involved in stereocilia bundle organization and regeneration.
  • Communicating research findings effectively through verbal and written presentations.
  • Collaborating with the research team, including postdocs, research assistants, and trainees.
