PhD Position in Supramolecular Chemistry: The QBIS-CAT group (IQCC-UdG, website: http://iqec.udg.edu/wordpress/) is offering a 4-year PhD grant (FPI-2023) for a PhD position in Supramolecular Chemistry with a focus on developing supramolecular nanocapsules with large cavities and studying the chemistry within their void space. Additionally, the project aims to synthesize curved nanographenes with photophysical properties using a catalytic bottom-up approach. The PhD position is linked to the REGIOMASK-NANO project (PID2022-136970NB-100), led by Prof. Xavi Ribas, which focuses on fullerene regio-functionalization and bottom-up nanographene synthesis. The position includes a 4-year salary, Doctoral School tuition, and a research stay opportunity.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.
- Master’s degree or equivalent that grants access to doctoral studies.
- Good English proficiency.
Job Description: The selected candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Development of supramolecular nanocapsules with large cavities.
- Study of the chemistry within the void space of nanocapsules.
- Synthesis of curved nanographenes using a catalytic bottom-up approach.
- Collaboration with the REGIOMASK-NANO project led by Prof. Xavi Ribas.
Specific Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Materials, or similar field.
- Basic background in Organic Chemistry and/or Supramolecular Chemistry will be considered.
- Starting date: January 2024 (4-year fellowship).
