Research Fellow at University of Birmingham: Join the University of Birmingham’s cutting-edge research team as a Research Fellow in the field of immunology and biological resources. Collaborate with Prof. Dylan Owen’s lab and contribute to groundbreaking projects in single-molecule localisation microscopy (SMLM) data analysis. This fixed-term position offers a chance to be a part of the prestigious Centre of Membrane Proteins and Receptors (COMPARE) and work on a 3-year grant from the BBSRC Bioinformatics and Biological Resources fund.

Designation: Research Fellow Research Area: Single-Molecule Localisation Microscopy (SMLM) Data Analysis Location: Birmingham Eligibility/Qualification:

  • First degree in Physics, Mathematics, Cell Biology, Immunology, or related subjects
  • Higher degree relevant to the research area (Biophysics, Bioimaging, Statistics, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence)
  • Fluency in relevant models, techniques, or methods, including programming experience in Python, R, or similar languages
  • Background knowledge of advanced fluorescence microscopy, especially SMLM

Job Description:

As a Research Fellow, you will:

  • Develop algorithmic routines for analyzing SMLM data
  • Contribute to the establishment of a public protein nanoscale organization database
  • Collaborate with the Centre of Membrane Proteins and Receptors (COMPARE)
  • Contribute to research program planning and organization
  • Coordinate work with team members to avoid duplication of effort
  • Ensure equal and fair treatment of individuals with protected characteristics
