Postdoc Position in Imaging: Join the Kwon laboratory at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of California, Davis, for a postdoctoral position in the cutting-edge field of novel positron emission tomography (PET) detector development. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering or related field
  • Proficiency in electronics schematic design and PCB layout
  • Experience in algorithm development using machine learning
  • Familiarity with software languages such as C++, MATLAB, etc.
  • Knowledge of Monte-Carlo simulation toolkits like Geant4 or GATE
  • FPGA development skills

Job Description:

Postdoc Position in Novel Positron Emission Imaging Detector Development

The Kwon laboratory invites highly motivated individuals to join as Postdoctoral Researchers for the development of novel PET detectors and the advancement of dPEI technology. Collaborate closely with Dr. Sun II Kwon and the research team to achieve the following goals:

  • Develop PET detectors using ultra-dense and fast ceramic scintillators for total-body PET scanners.
  • Work on time-of-flight PET detector development using bismuth germanate (BGO).
  • Contribute to ultra-fast gamma-ray detector development for reconstruction-free dPEI.
