PhD Position in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering: Join the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for a PhD scholarship opportunity in the group of NUS Presidential Young Professor Yanwei LUM. Eligibility/Qualification:
  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, materials science, chemistry, or a related field.
  • Strong academic background with a passion for research and innovation.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Previous research experience in catalysis, materials characterization, or electrochemistry is a plus. |

Job Description: As a PhD researcher in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at NUS, you will be actively involved in cutting-edge research aimed at advancing the field of electrocatalysis for CO2 conversion. Some of the key responsibilities include:

  1. Synthesis and testing of catalyst materials: Conduct experiments to develop novel electrocatalysts for efficient CO2 reduction.
  2. Characterization of materials: Utilize various techniques such as XRD, TEM, XPS, SEM, and more to analyze and characterize catalyst materials.
  3. In-situ catalyst studies: Perform in-situ studies using techniques like Raman, FTIR, AFM, STM, etc., to gain insights into catalyst behavior under reaction conditions.
  4. Product analysis: Analyze reaction products using GC, GCMS, HPLC, NMR, and other analytical instruments.
