Postdoctoral Research Associate: The University of Exeter’s Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, specifically the Psychology department, is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate. This position is available from December 2023 and has a duration of 60 months. The role will be based at the Mood Disorders Centre on the Streatham Campus, University of Exeter. The Research Associate will support the Wellcome Trust-funded project “Understanding the mechanisms driving the reduction of repetitive negative thought.”

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed or nearly completed PhD in psychology or a related field.
  • Experience in clinically-relevant psychological research.
  • Skills in therapy-relevant research.
  • Ability to design, deliver, and analyze experimental studies.
  • Strong research track record.
  • Experience in engaging with individuals with lived experience of poor mental health.

Job Description: The responsibilities of the Postdoctoral Research Associate include:

  • Supporting experimental studies and clinical interventions related to rumination-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy.
  • Participating in participatory research with individuals with lived experience.
  • Supporting a clinical trial.
  • Developing research objectives, projects, and proposals.
  • Preparing publications and reports.
  • Identifying sources of research funding and contributing to securing funds.
  • Making presentations at conferences and other events.
