Japanese Government MEXT Scholarship: We are seeking a dedicated Scholarship Coordinator to manage the application and recommendation process for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for Graduates (University Recommendation). The field must be the one in which the applicant majored at university, or a related field, and be one in which the applicant will be able to do research at Tokyo Tech.
Location: Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Excellent academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 2.30 (out of 3.00) in the last-attended degree program.
- Nationality of a country with diplomatic relations with Japan (Dual nationality holders, please refer to the criteria mentioned in the official documentation).
- Age of 34 years or younger as of April 1 of the first year of the MEXT Scholarship period.
- Graduate of a Japanese university or equivalent academic ability.
- Proficiency in the English language (CEFR level B2 or higher, completion of required curriculum in English, or assessment by Tokyo Tech).
- Physically and mentally capable of pursuing studies in Japan.
- Ability to arrive in Japan within two weeks of the start date of the third quarter of the academic year.
- Eligible for a “Student” visa for Japan.

Job Description:
- Coordinate and oversee the application process for the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship under the University Recommendation program.
- Provide guidance and support to applicants regarding eligibility requirements, documentation, and submission procedures.
- Liaise with the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with scholarship regulations and requirements.
- Manage the selection process for the Priority and General recommendation schemes, as applicable.
- Monitor and track the progress of scholarship applications and maintain accurate records.
- Communicate with scholarship candidates and assist them in preparing for the scholarship interview process.
- Collaborate with Tokyo Tech’s academic departments to facilitate the integration of scholarship recipients into their respective programs.
- Handle inquiries and provide information about the scholarship program to prospective candidates.
- Prepare reports and documentation for scholarship-related activities as required.
Stipend: JPY 147,000 for master’s students; JPY 148,000 for doctoral students
Education fees: Enrollment fee and tuition will be waived by Tokyo Tech. The entrance examination (application) fee will be reimbursed if the applicant is allocated to Tokyo Tech by MEXT.
Travel expenses: Air tickets to/from Japan will be provided by MEXT under certain conditions.
