Scholarship Description:
PHD CANDIDATE “HIGH-TECH SENSING FOR TURBULENT AND RADIANT HEAT EXCHANGE IN URBAN ENVIRONMENTS”
As a PHD candidate, you will work on remote sensing-based observational modeling of atmospheric urban boundary layer dynamics. Your tasks will include analyzing optical-thermal imagery, ground observations, and modeling ambient temperature in urban environments. You’ll also participate in experimental campaigns, present research results, contribute to teaching, and mentor MSc students as needed.
Eligibility: To qualify for this scholarship, you should have:
- An MSc in physics, meteorology, hydrology, physical geography, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to conduct independent research and collect field data.
- Experience in quantitative earth observation analysis tools.
- Proficiency in programming languages like C, C++, Fortran, or similar.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- A collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
