RESEARCH SCIENTIST (AMOC): Join the School of Mathematical Physical & Computational Sciences at the University of Reading, UK, as a Research Scientist. We are seeking a talented post-doctoral scientist to contribute to the international research project, EPOC, focused on understanding the future of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC). Eligibility/Qualification:
- A PhD or equivalent in mathematical or physical science or expect to receive one shortly
- Strong scientific analytical ability, creativity, and self-motivation
- Experience in analyzing climate model output or similar datasets
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with project members, both internal and external
Job Description: As a Research Scientist, your role involves:
- Improving the understanding of AMOC drivers, including the impact of external factors such as greenhouse gases
- Exploring how model resolution influences AMOC simulation and its response to external factors
Please note that candidates are required to be based in Reading for the entire contract duration. The initial position is available for 24 months, with potential for a 6-month extension subject to further funding.
