Postdoctoral Research Position in Cancer Cell : Join our research team at the CNRS of Montpellier to unravel the intricacies of cancer cell signaling pathways in liver cancer, with a focus on identifying novel therapeutic options. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to make a significant impact in the field of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Cancer Cell Signaling in Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC)
Location: CNRS, Montpellier
Eligibility/Qualification: We are seeking a highly motivated and talented young postdoc with a strong background in molecular and cellular biology, particularly in cancer cell signaling and solid tumors. Expertise in liver cancer, organoids, and proteomic techniques would be highly appreciated.
Job Description:
Postdoctoral Research Position in Cancer Cell Signaling
We are focused on deciphering the complex oncogenic mechanisms underlying HCC, the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Most HCC cases are diagnosed at late stages, limiting treatment options. Somatic alterations in gene copy numbers play a crucial role in HCC development, including the amplification of genes promoting tumor progression via poorly understood mechanisms. Our team has identified two novel tumor microenvironment factors that activate these genes and have developed an antibody that effectively blocks their activity, displaying anti-tumor effects.
As a postdoc in our team, your responsibilities will include:
- Investigating and understanding the oncogenic mechanisms in HCC, particularly related to gene copy number alterations.
- Collaborating closely with research teams at CRBM, IGMM, IRCM, and CHU of Montpellier.
- Improving the anti-tumor activity of our therapeutic antibody.
- Identifying new oncogenic pathways and potential therapeutic options.
How to Apply: Interested candidates are invited to submit the following documents to Serge Roche at serge.roche@crbm.co:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing relevant experience and qualifications.
- A cover letter explaining your research interests, relevant skills, and how your expertise aligns with this project.
- Contact information for at least two professional references.
Last Date for Apply: Applications will be accepted until [INSERT DATE]. We encourage early applications as the position may be filled before the closing date.
This postdoctoral research position is funded by INCA and is for a duration of 24-36 months, with an expected start date in early 2024. Join us in our mission to uncover new therapeutic avenues for hepatocellular carcinoma and make a lasting impact in the fight against liver cancer.
