Scholarship Description:
Ph.D. Contract in the Synthesis of Halide Perovskites Analogs
The Matheu lab at the University of Barcelona invites applications for a Ph.D. position focused on the synthesis of halide perovskite analogs. Semiconductor technologies, particularly those involving halide perovskites, play a critical role in solar cells and light-emitting devices. However, enhancing control over charge transport in these materials remains a challenge. This project aims to address this challenge by synthesizing expanded analogs of halide perovskites with redox-active organic ligands. Additionally, the project explores new metal-halide lattices with mixed-valency. The research is funded by the Agencia Estatal de Investigación and Maria de Maeztu.
Eligibility: Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Hold a BSc degree in Chemistry, Nanotechnology, or Materials Science.
- Possess a Master’s degree in the same fields.
- Strong synthetic skills, whether in organic or inorganic chemistry.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
The selected student will receive a 3-year contract and will be responsible for conducting research, drafting scientific papers, and delivering a Ph.D. thesis.
Required Documents: Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Roc Matheu (roc.matheu@ub.edu) by November 26, 2023, expressing their interest in the position.
How to Apply: To apply, email Dr. Roc Matheu at roc.matheu@ub.edu.
