Postdoctoral Scholar at NC State: North Carolina State University (NC State) is seeking a dedicated and highly qualified Postdoctoral Research Scholar to join the research group led by Wentao Tang. This position is focused on advancing research at the intersection of systems and control theory, optimization, and machine learning. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of research ideas, generate preliminary results, and play a key role in producing scientific papers, technical proposals, and providing mentoring and support to graduate and undergraduate researchers.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in chemical engineering, electrical engineering/automation, industrial engineering/systems engineering, or mechanical engineering.
- Familiarity with nonlinear systems and control theory, optimization algorithms (preferably in convex optimization and (mixed) integer programming), mathematical analysis, and linear algebra.
- Strong communication and presentation skills in English.
Job Description: The Postdoctoral Research Scholar will collaborate with the PI on exploratory research, develop theoretical proofs, methodologies, and algorithms, conduct numerical computations, produce papers and technical reports, and contribute to teaching materials. Additionally, the scholar will be responsible for writing grant proposals and providing intellectual support to graduate and undergraduate researchers in the PI’s group.
