Job Description: As a postdoctoral researcher, your mission involves:
- Identifying new genetic causes for rare skeletal disorders, including those with osteoporosis, abnormal mineral homeostasis, short stature, or deformities.
- Characterizing the molecular mechanisms underlying these genetic defects and their impact on the phenotype.
- Conducting research involving patients and families affected by these rare diseases.
- Utilizing whole-genome sequencing and RNA-sequencing to identify disease-causing genetic defects.
Skills and Personal Qualities: We are looking for candidates with the following skills and qualities:
- Expertise in molecular genetics and rare diseases, with previous experience in bone research being advantageous.
- Proficiency in high-throughput sequencing technologies.
- Familiarity with high-performance computing environments, Linux, Python, R scripting, or other programming languages.
- Ability to write scientific articles and a track record of publications in international refereed journals.
- Strong communication skills, both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
