Eligibility/Qualification: To be eligible for this postdoctoral position, you should meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a doctoral degree or a foreign equivalent in a field related to the position (e.g., genetics, medicine, biomedicine, biotechnology).

Job Description: As a postdoctoral researcher, your mission involves:

  • Identifying new genetic causes for rare skeletal disorders, including those with osteoporosis, abnormal mineral homeostasis, short stature, or deformities.
  • Characterizing the molecular mechanisms underlying these genetic defects and their impact on the phenotype.
  • Conducting research involving patients and families affected by these rare diseases.
  • Utilizing whole-genome sequencing and RNA-sequencing to identify disease-causing genetic defects.

Skills and Personal Qualities: We are looking for candidates with the following skills and qualities:

  • Expertise in molecular genetics and rare diseases, with previous experience in bone research being advantageous.
  • Proficiency in high-throughput sequencing technologies.
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing environments, Linux, Python, R scripting, or other programming languages.
  • Ability to write scientific articles and a track record of publications in international refereed journals.
  • Strong communication skills, both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Willingness to actively participate in national and international collaborative research projects.
  • Enthusiasm, ambition, open-mindedness, and strong social skills.
  • Self-motivation, adaptability, and the ability to stay updated on relevant research developments.
