Post-Doctoral Position in Medicinal Chemistry: The Center for Molecular and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (CERMN) at the University of CAEN (France) is inviting applications for an open post-doctoral position in its Medicinal Chemistry team.

Research Area:
The research focuses on combating highly virulent and antibiotic-resistant bacterial pathogens, specifically the six ‘ESKAPE’ pathogens designated by the World Health Organization as critical targets for drug discovery. The aim is to develop new classes of antibiotics against novel targets to address the global challenge of nosocomial infections.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry
- Experience with organic synthesis and multiparametric optimization
- Good knowledge of medicinal chemistry
- Experience in using modern analytical instrumentation, including NMR and Mass-spectrometry
- Familiarity with specialized software and databases, excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Strong publication writing skills and proficiency in both oral and written English/French
- Postdoc experience in organic or medicinal chemistry is a plus
Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Design and synthesis of bioactive compounds
- Multiparametric optimization and interpretation of biological and ADMET results (SAR)
- Writing protocols, ordering reagents
- Preparation/writing of publications, posters, oral communication
- Participation in shared lab tasks
- Mentoring and supervising students
