Postdoctoral Scholar at Oregon: Oregon Health & Science University’s Casey Eye Institute is seeking a highly motivated individual for a Postdoctoral Scholar position in the Chirco Lab. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to translational research using human iPSCs and retinal organoids, focusing on understanding and treating Bardet-Biedl Syndrome, a rare form of retinitis pigmentosa.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in molecular biology or a related field.
- Strong cell culture experience.
- Background in molecular and/or developmental biology.
- Benchwork skills including PCR, IHC, Western blotting, etc.
- Motivated individual who can work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
Job Description: The Postdoctoral Scholar will:
- Generate and grow iPSCs and human retinal organoids.
- Evaluate therapeutics in generated iPSCs and retinal organoids.
- Characterize retinal disease features and gain a mechanistic understanding of BBS7-mediated retinal disease.
- Develop a rhesus macaque retinal organoid model system for testing therapies.
- Conduct bench research, test and optimize gene editing tools, and write manuscripts.
