Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Fellow: The University of Mannheim, a leading institution in Germany, invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Fellow position. The successful candidate will join the interdisciplinary and international research project on the evolution of personality differences in social learning strategies at the Chair for Cross-Cultural Social and Personality Psychology. The position is funded by the European Research Council (ERC Consolidator Grant) and offers a unique opportunity for collaboration with renowned scholars in the field.

Research Area: Evolutionary Anthropology, Social Learning Strategies, Personality Differences

Location: University of Mannheim, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in evolutionary anthropology or related evolutionary sciences (behavioral ecology, evolutionary biology, or evolutionary psychology).
  • Expertise and keen interest in social learning, experience sampling methodology/ambulatory assessment, and personality.
  • Ability to collaborate in an interdisciplinary and international research environment.

Job Description:

  • Collaborate on the ERC project, focusing on social learning in everyday life and personality differences in the use of social learning strategies.
  • Teach seminars in English or German in the areas of social and/or personality psychology, with the flexibility to choose specific topics.
  • (Co-)Supervise theses at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD levels.

Key Information:

  • Start: February 1st, 2024, or later (April 1st, 2024, at the latest)
  • Term: Temporary position for three years, with the option for extension to six years
  • Remuneration: E 13 TV-L BW
  • Weekly Hours: 39.5 hours, suitable for job sharing
  • Application Deadline: December 1, 2023
