Research Area: Investigating chromatin-associated RNAs & RNA-binding proteins and their roles in neuro-epigenetic regulation

Location: Toda Lab, FAU/MPZ-PM, Erlangen, Germany

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD Position:
    • Excellent Master’s degree with a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, or neurobiology.
    • Additional experience in computational biology is desirable.
    • Proficiency in cell culture and biochemistry.
    • Experience in computational RNA structure prediction or RNA-RBP interaction (e.g., RNAfold, catRAPID) is a plus.
  • MSc Thesis Position:
    • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree with a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, or computational biology.
    • Experience in RNA/Protein structure or interaction prediction (e.g., RNAfold, catRAPID), or in biochemical experiments is a plus.

  • Investigate mechanisms underlying the long-term maintenance of RNAs and their epigenetic roles.
  • Identify RNA-binding proteins interacting with stable RNAs associated with chromatin.
  • Utilize biochemical and biophysical approaches to unravel neuro-epigenetic regulation.
