PhD Student in Natural Language Processing (NLP)
The successful candidate will join the Department of Computational Linguistics and collaborate with the NCCR Evolving Languages, specifically with James Henderson. The research will focus on how multilingual language models represent knowledge, studying conditions for cross-lingual representations and utilizing interpretability methods. The project includes access to neuroimaging data to explore language model predictions on bilinguals’ brain activity.
Eligibility:
- Recent or imminent Master’s degree in computational linguistics, computer science, AI, or a related discipline
- Strong academic track record in machine learning and/or natural language processing
- Strong programming skills (Python)
- Strong communication skills (English: essential; German: desirable)
