Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Good Honours degree with 1st Class or 2:1 in a social science discipline.
  • Masters with Distinction or Merit degree in a relevant field.
  • Background in economics/political economy.
  • Demonstrable interest in energy/climate/public policy issues.
  • Some experience/understanding of economy-wide modeling approaches (desirable but not essential).

PhD Research Opportunity – Understanding the Economy-wide Implications of Energy Efficiency Policies

The PhD candidate will:

  • Analyze the effectiveness of current policy actions promoting residential energy efficiency improvement.
  • Identify and address barriers to the adoption of efficiency improvement measures.
  • Explore the economy-wide implications of different actions and their impact on residential properties.
  • Evaluate outcomes of existing energy efficiency improvement policies and assess resource utilization.
  • Investigate costs and challenges associated with deploying energy efficiency solutions.
