Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Educated and currently working in Latin America, Asia, and/or Africa
  • Hold a doctorate (max. 2 years, doctoral degree granted after 15 February 2022) or be a doctoral student in the final year
  • Doctorate completed or ongoing at a university in Latin America, Asia, or Africa
  • No permanent professorship, habilitation, or equivalent qualification (Venia legendi)
  • Research project aligns with disciplines represented at the University of Konstanz

Job Description:

  • On-site research stay at the University of Konstanz with a stipend (€1,300/month for doctoral students, €2,000/month for postdoctoral researchers)
  • Standard expenses for one economy-class trip to Konstanz and back
  • Digital affiliation extending to 12 months, supported with up to €900
  • German language course (online and on site, to be confirmed for 2024)
  • Career development opportunities through seminars, workshops, and networking events
  • Active contribution to interdisciplinary dialogue at the Zukunftskolleg during the on-campus and digital affiliation
  • Collaboration with fellows and researchers at the University of Konstanz
  • Presentation in a seminar or public lecture
  • Acknowledgment of Zukunftskolleg’s support in resulting publications
  • Submission of a short report on activities and achievements within 6 months of completing the fellowship
