We are currently seeking two highly motivated individuals to fill Pre-Doc positions in the Wanninger Lab at the Department of Evolutionary Biology. This is a unique opportunity to engage in groundbreaking research on vermitid gastropods using morphological, molecular, and bioinformatic tools.

Designation: University Assistant Predoctoral

Research Area: Evolutionary Biology, with a focus on zoology and vermitid gastropods

Location: Vienna, Austria

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • MSc degree or equivalent in Biology or a related field
  • Proficient written and oral English skills
  • Experience in morphological, molecular, or bioinformatic applications
  • Ability to work in an international and multicultural team
  • High motivation and dedication to the project

Job Description: As a University Assistant Predoctoral, you will actively participate in research, teaching, and administration. Your tasks will include:

  • Involvement in research projects and scientific studies in zoology and evolutionary biology
  • Administrative tasks related to research, teaching, and administration
  • Generation and analysis of scientific data using morphological, molecular, or bioinformatic approaches
  • Co-supervision of BSc and MSc students in the lab
  • Writing scientific papers, presenting research at conferences, and contributing to departmental activities
