Alliance Interinstitutional Postdoctoral Positions: The Health + Life Science Alliance Heidelberg Mannheim is seeking outstanding junior scientists/clinician scientists for interinstitutional postdoctoral positions. The positions aim to support innovative research projects in various health and life science areas, including cancer research, cardiovascular research, neuropsychiatric diseases, genomics, synthetic immunology, molecular engineering, medical technologies, and applications of AI in health and life science research. Accepted fellows will be provided a 2-year contract at an Alliance partner institution, with the earliest start date in August/September 2024.

Eligibility/Qualification:PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in a relevant area. Not worked for more than 6 months as a postdoctoral researcher or clinician scientist at Alliance institutions at the time of the submission deadline.

    • Candidates can choose from proposed projects or define their own with at least two principal investigators (PIs) at different Alliance partner institutions.
    • Priority areas include cancer research, cardiovascular research, neuropsychiatric diseases, genomics, synthetic immunology, molecular engineering, medical technologies, and AI applications in health and life science research.
    • Postdoctoral candidates should have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD and not have worked for more than 6 months as a postdoctoral researcher or clinician scientist at Alliance institutions.

    • Accepted fellows receive a 2-year contract at an Alliance partner institution starting in August/September 2024.
    • Clinician scientists get 12 months of funding over 24 months during specialist medical training, with guaranteed support from the employing hospital/PI.
