Eligibility/Qualification: This scholarship is open to potential and current students who:

  • Are domestic or international students
  • Have applied for admission to a PhD or Professional Doctorate by Research program
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree with first-class honors (upper second-class honors may be considered by some Colleges) or a Master’s degree with a research component or equivalent from a recognized university.

Job Description: The scholarship, valued at $34,000 per annum, provides financial support to Higher Degree by Research candidates pursuing a PhD or Professional Doctorate by Research program. Payments are made fortnightly, and the scholarship is awarded based on academic merit. Recipients may undertake full-time study, with a possibility of a 6-month extension. Additional benefits include travel and removal allowances for those relocating to Canberra, thesis allowance, and dependent child allowance for international students. Paid medical and parental leave are also included.
