Eligibility/Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, ecology, evolution, genetics, or related fields
- Interest in evolutionary biology, statistics, bioinformatics, and genetics
- Relevant skills and experience with Drosophila husbandry, experimental design, biological statistics, quantitative genetics, RNA extraction, and bioinformatics
Job Description:
- Conduct research integrating quantitative genetics and transcriptomics in Drosophila melanogaster
- Utilize simulations in SLiM to address questions related to climate adaptation, dominance reversal, and genetic architecture
- Develop and tailor PhD research to align with career ambitions
- Receive training in Drosophila husbandry, experimental design, biological statistics, quantitative genetics, RNA extraction, bioinformatics, population genetic simulations, and programming (R, bash, Python, SLiM)
