Research Area:
All academic disciplines, with a focus on fostering leadership, creativity, and innovation through multidisciplinary collaboration.

Location:
Leading Israeli universities including Bar-Ilan University, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Reichman University, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, Tel Aviv University, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, University of Haifa, and Weizmann Institute of Science.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Candidates who received their PhD on or after November 1, 2021 (extensions allowed for parental/medical leave).
  • Current PhD candidates can apply if they defend their dissertation by June 1, 2025.
  • Open to all nationalities except Israeli; however, those with Israeli citizenship or residency after September 1, 2024, are eligible.
  • Candidates who started a postdoc or academic role in Israel before September 1, 2024, are not eligible.
  • An academic sponsor at one of the eligible Israeli institutions is required to confirm the candidate’s suitability and support.

Job Description:
The Azrieli Fellowship program is designed to support researchers aiming for excellence, leadership, and innovation. Azrieli Fellows are expected to:

  • Conduct groundbreaking research at one of the top Israeli institutions.
  • Collaborate across disciplines and promote innovative approaches to academic challenges.
  • Engage in program-sponsored enrichment activities, fostering leadership and interdisciplinary connections.
  • Participate in community engagement activities and maintain a high standard of academic performance.
  • Attend networking events and interact with a vibrant academic community.
  • Acknowledge Azrieli Foundation support in any publications resulting from research conducted during the fellowship.
  • Remain based in Israel for at least 75% of the fellowship duration and participate in alumni activities.

How to Apply:
Candidates must submit an application including academic qualifications, proposed research, a letter of support from an academic sponsor, and a demonstration of leadership qualities. The selection process includes a preselection screening, an academic review by multidisciplinary committees, and a final interview.
