Bioinformatics Scientist: The Laboratory for Biological Engineering at ETH Zurich is seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of biological engineering, computational biology, and functional genomics. The ideal candidate will work closely with Professor Randall J. Platt and be involved in innovative projects focused on gene function studies and disease treatment technologies.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD or equivalent in bioinformatics, computational biology, computer science, applied statistics, or a related field
  • Substantial (>6 years) postdoctoral or equivalent experience in developing and applying computational methods to large-scale biological datasets

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Collaborate with both experimental and computational teams
  • Develop computational methods and analyze multi-omic datasets (transcriptomics, metagenomics, metabolomics, and proteomics)
  • Facilitate project planning, data interpretation, and research dissemination
  • Guide and mentor trainees in computational research
  • Publish research findings and contribute to grant writing
