Research Areas
- Theoretical Syntax: Topics include configurational correlates of the subject-predicate link, copular sentences, symmetry and symmetry-breaking phenomena.
- Experimental Syntax and Neurosyntax: Research includes grammaticality judgments, reaction times, eye-tracking, neurophysiology or invasive techniques.
- Pragmatics and Neuropragmatics: Studies on metaphor and non-literal language, computational modeling of behavioral and brain data, clinical and developmental pragmatics, and language disorders.
- Linguistic and Communicative Skills in Disadvantaged Populations: Focus on children and adolescents in deprived contexts, examining communicative interaction with carers and surveillance personnel.
- Communicating Science and Medicine: Analysis of linguistic phenomena in science and medical communication, with implications for fields like oncology, mental health, and doctor-patient interactions.
- Atypical Language Development: Research on neurophysiological correlates of language development in neurodevelopmental disorders, assessment tool improvement, and rehabilitative strategies.
