CALL FOR POSTDOC APPLICATIONS 2024 “EXCELLENCE FELLOWSHIPS FOR YOUNG RESEARCHERS 2024”
Designation: Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Research Area: Open to various research areas within the disciplines offered by Université Côte d’Azur (refer to the list in the appendix of the call).
Location: Université Côte d’Azur, France
Eligibility/Qualification: The candidate must hold a university doctorate or PhD; the thesis must have been defended before submitting the application. Additionally, the candidate must have defended a doctoral thesis within the 4 years prior to the closing date for applications, i.e., after April 12, 2020.
Job Description: The selected candidates will embark on a 24-month research journey at Université Côte d’Azur, contributing to cutting-edge projects in collaboration with esteemed research laboratories. The laureates are expected to apply for a permanent position (associate professor or researcher) at Université Côte d’Azur or its partner institutions or submit an application for an ERC grant.
Funding and Benefits: The successful candidates will receive a fixed-term contract with an attractive gross monthly salary of €3,520. An operating budget of €5,000 for the project’s duration will be provided, along with temporary furnished accommodation at the University Côte d’Azur Faculty Club, with the first month provided free of charge. The Welcome Center offers comprehensive support before and during the laureates’ stay.
Eligibility:

- Defended the thesis within the 4 years prior to the closing date (after April 12, 2020)
Selection and Timeline: Applications will be reviewed by an interdisciplinary committee based on the following criteria:
- Ability to meet the objectives of the call for applications
- Quality of the candidate’s CV (degrees, publications, career plan)
- Scientific quality of the proposed project
- Quality of the host laboratory and supervisor’s CV
- Suitability of the host laboratory for the research project
- Alignment with the strategic programs of IdEx of Université Côte d’Azur
The application deadline is April 12, 2024. All applicants will be informed about the results in June 2024. The scholarship’s start, to be agreed upon with the host, is no later than January 30, 2025.
